An Allocation Interface for Heterogeneous Memories

This thesis fathoms the possibilities of exploiting heterogeneous memories for speeding up database query execution. We designed a modified query execution plan that exploits the superior bandwidth of the high bandwidth memory in our test system by explicitly moving data to that memory to prepare them for a later scheduled operation. We verified our approach on our test system with benchmarks that show performance gains  compared to the baseline approach.
