In resource-constrained multi-tenant systems like edge cloud systems, process isolation is key. Resource management should be predictable to be able to give time guarantees. One resource that has received little exploration so far is process deallocation time. The time it takes a kernel to free all the memory and state held by a process on termination. Governing Memory Deallocation Time on Linux via cgroups examines that concept specifically on Linux and investigates if it is possible to predict it using cgroup statistics.
