Non-volatile memory (NVM) is byte-addressable main memory just like regular DRAM but keeps its state across a power loss. This enables applications to directly persist data using load and store operations.
This research project explores the idea of integrating NVM directly into the L4Re microkernel operating system. This is a preliminary step of making the whole system persistent.
The presentation describes the steps that were necessary to make the various subsystems work on NVM and further evaluates the performance of the resulting system.
