Echtzeit-AGmuSTAR: Migrating Linux Threads to L4
Today, most applications run on Linux. This brings a variety of
advantages and benefits with it, such as supporting a range of
architecture and platforms, plethora of available software and
supporting libraries as well as the vast collection of drivers that
supports almost every device. However, this also comes with complexity
that makes it challenging to use Linux in scenarios where execution
timing and security are the key.
In my presentation I will explore an approach that allows Linux
application threads to run next to their virtual machine in a trusted
execution environment, additionally benefiting from noise free
execution, while still being able to enjoy the feature and services
provided by Linux, by using L4Re and a virtualized Linux guest.
