Invited Talk at Sandia Labs
Our Thorsten Strufe is giving a talk at Sandia National Labs, Livermore on April 15, entitled "Anonymous Routing for privacy-preserving Online Services".
Abstract:
Freedom of speech, the paramount prerequisite for democracies, requires the ability to freely research and retrieve various information, as well as the ability to develop and express opinions without the fear of tracing, retribution, or even just ridicule. This talk will introduce the situation of mobile and online services, with a special focus on social media. It will highlight the threats and functional shortcomings that are due to their current architecture and implementation. I subsequently will present darknets as a class of countermeasures, which enhances the privacy of the users by distributing the implementations, and introduce our scheme for efficient routing on anonymous return addresses that dramatically increases the performance of said darknets.
