Rules for attending the mobile sensing lab
Important dates

The kick-off meeting for the Praktikum/Projektseminar Mobile Sensing will take place on May 6, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in room APB/1096.
- Interest in a project must be declared by May 10, 2015, the latest. In order to apply for working on a specific topic, please contact the topic supervisor by e-mail to In your e-mail, please indicate your first and family name, your student ID and -- of course :-) -- the topic you are interested in.
- The final project presentations will take place on July 22, 2015 from .... to .... in room ..... Final project presentations must last no less than 15 and longer than 20 minutes (including a live demo of the achieved results). Only in well-documented cases, e.g., the hardware cannot be transported to the seminar room, a video instead of a live demo can be presented. The language of the presentation slides and the talk must be consistent, e.g., english or german but not a mix of both. All the group member should present equally.

The project report (one per group) has to be submitted until July 19, 2015 at 23:59 CET to your tutor. The language of the report must be the same as the presentation talk and slides, i.e., english or german but not a mix of both. Depending on the group size the report should be no less than 5, 7, and 9 pages for a group of one, two, or three participants, respectively. The template for the report should be IEEE/ACM conference format. Typically, a report should include the following sections:
- Introduction: A short description on the task itself, such as the content, purpose.
- Design: How to solve the problems proposed in the task. The design choices behind the solution.
- Implementation: The architecture of the system or software. The documentation should go to the code.
- Discussion: Problems encountered, experience gained and open issues in the task.
- Code review with supervisors must take place until July 22, 2015. Please arrange these meetings with your supervisor.
- The final grading includes the practical part (65%), submitted report (20%), and the presentation (15%).

Credit points
Information concerning credit points strongly depend on your Department, course of study, and more. Thus, binding information on this regard can only be provided by the responsible Studienbüros/Prüfungssekretariate.
Registration
- You can register for a specific project after the kick-off meeting. Students have to commit for a project by sending an e-mail the corresponding tutor.
