Lecture "Introduction to Computer Engineering"
(This course will mostly be held in German)
Responsible Lecturers:
Prof. Göhringer, Prof. Nagel, Prof. Castrillon-Mazo, Dr. Steffen Märcker
Course description:
The course "Introduction to Computer Engineering" is offered as a lecture series by four chairs of Computer Engineering. In the "Parallel Processing" part of the Chair of Computer Architecture, students are introduced to different architectural approaches to parallel processing. These are closely related to the possibilities for the formulation of parallel programs based on them, which form a focus of the course. Furthermore, basic practical skills in the field of parallel programming are taught using programming examples. A direct component of the course is performance analysis, which supports the selection of program alternatives and architecture decisions. Overall, the course provides an overview of the diverse areas of parallel processing, which will be dealt with in more detail in the following courses of the INF-VERT5 module.
