The 20-semester study programme is divided in elementary and main studies. The 8-semester elementary study course in Mechanical Engineering provides fundamental knowledge in Higher Mathematics, Physics, Technical Mechanics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Science and Engineering, etc. It is concluded with an intermediate certificate. A basic internship is not required. During the 12-semester main studies, students can choose to specialise in certain areas. We offer the disciplines General and Constructive Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Aerospace Engineering and Energy Technology.

The first part of the 12-semester Bachelor study programme (1st to 8th semester) covers the fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, such as Higher Mathematics, Physics, Technical Mechanics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing Science. In the second part of the study programme, certain areas are deepened by selecting a field of specialisation, depending on the interest of the student. We offer the following fields of specialisation: General and Constructive Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Aerospace Engineering and Energy Technology. The study will be completed with a Bachelor thesis.

The postgraduate study programme provides students holding a Bachelor's degree or a Diploma from a University of Applied Sciences the opportunity to acquire a degree as Graduate engineer in Mechanical Engineering [Diplom-Ingenieur Maschinenbau]. The standard period of this study programme is 8 semesters and it is offered in the disciplines General and Constructive Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Aerospace Engineering and Energy Technology. A specialised internship is not foreseen. The preparation of an assignment paper is planned for the 7th semester. In the 8th semester, the study programme is completed with a thesis.
