SPP2476 - Method development for the multi-criteria optimization of a process chain for the production of hybrid lightweight components
As part of our new research project, a four-stage process chain for the production of a lightweight helmet made from an innovative Al/Mg/Al sandwich structure is being investigated. The focus is on key properties such as component weight, stiffness, shape and dimensional accuracy as well as the carbon footprint.
The entire production chain - consisting of roll cladding, blank cutting, deep drawing and laser cutting - is to be optimized through the in a targeted manner control of numerous process parameters and their interactions. The project thus pursues a backward-looking design approach in order to produce helmets with high functionality, precision and sustainability.
