Forming processes through the ages
With the help of the technologies developed at our company, products are manufactured all over the world. These enrich people's lives - making them a little easier, faster or more beautiful. Being able to contribute to this is a great opportunity. Curiosity and a thirst for knowledge are our driving forces. Our international team researches, teaches and consults in the research fields of forming technology, cutting processes and production planning.
If you can also imagine yourself researching manufacturing technologies, then write us or yourself in.
The professorship is one of the currently six professorships of the Institute of Production Engineering and a member of the Production Engineering Center Dresden (ProZeD).

It emerged from the Chair of Forming and Primary Forming Technology and the Production Automation, Machining and Ablation Technology (PAZAT) working group. The Chair is a member of the Dresden Production Technology Center (ProZeD). The teaching and research work covers the main subject areas of production engineering
- Primary forming and forming technology
- technologies of cutting production
and
- Production planning / parts production
- Production automation.
According to these fields of work, two departments are active as a structural organization of the Chair:
- Department of Forming Technology (UT)
Head: Dipl-Ing. Christian Steinfelder - Department of Automated Process Planning (MP)
