SFB TRR285 extended!

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has extended funding for the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) "Method Development for Mechanical Joints in Transformable Process Chains" for another four years. The SFB/Transregio 285 will receive around 11 million euros to develop flexible joining technologies. The aim is to replace rigid processes with transformable process chains in order to meet the requirements of increasing product diversity. The scientists from the Technical University of Dresden, the University of Paderborn and the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg are investigating the entire process chain from materials to manufacturing in order to enable resource-saving adaptations in product creation. This should lead to more sustainable manufacturing technology.
