DGM Young Talent Award 2020 for Dr. Christoph Zwahr

The German Society for Materials Science (DGM) honored Dr. Christoph Zwahr with the Young Talent Award.
This award is addressed to doctoral students working on a research topic in the field of materials science and materials engineering.
Christoph Zwahr completed his doctorate on the subject of "Functionalization of titanium surfaces by laser ablation for high-quality dental implants"
at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the TU Dresden, with the highest grade summa cum laude, in October 2019.

"[...] His doctoral thesis was an important pioneering work, which answered several important questions,
opening up new possibilities for the surface design of materials in the future, especially for the development of functionalized implants [...]",
comments his supervisor and laser expert of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Andrés Lasagni.
The prize is endowed with 500 euros. The award ceremony took place on September 21 as a web meeting.
