World Record for Surface Patterning with Lasers: 0,7 m²/min. Speed at Micrometer Resolution!
Artificially fabricated micro- and submicrometer patterns on technical surfaces can beneficially influence mechanical, biological or optical properties. In the past years, the application of these patterns has gained increasing prominence.
The Fraunhofer IWS together with the chair LMO at the TU Dresden developed a modular laser system for high speed laser patterning. With this system it is possible to pattern polymer surfaces with an fabrication rate of 0.7 m²/min - world record!
More details can be found in the News of Fraunhofer IWS.
