Prof. Lasagni receives the Masing price awarded by the DGM

In his research programm, Prof. Lasagni focuses on the development of laser based methods for surface patterning. This technology offers the possibility to equip surfaces on large areas with complex micro and nano structures. "There are many impressive natural solutions for patterned surfaces and their properties. We can use these ideas as an inspiration to bring new properties to technical surfaces", Prof. Lasagni said. "It is important to gain scientific understanding of these surface properties and to develop laser based technologies for the high quality fabrication of micro/nano patterns."

Since 1957, the Masing memorial award is given by the DGM every year to excellent young scientists. The DGM considers itself as a forum for everybody dealing with the research, development, fabrication, treatment and application of materials.

Prof. Lasagni is awarded with this price for his excellent work in the field of laser technology.
