Scientific Initiation Prize at the XXVII Brazilian Congress of Biomedical Engineering
Mr. Matheus Araña, from the University of Sao Paulo under the supervision of Prof. Ismar Cestari, has been awarded with the Scientific Initiation Prize at the “XXVII Brazilian Congress of Biomedical Engineering”.
The work presented at the above mentioned conference, entitled “Experimental Apparatus for Evaluation of Calcium Fluctuations in Cardiomyocytes Derived from Human-Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells” resulted from the successful cooperation with the TU Dresden, in which polymer foils have been functionalized using laser based and Roll-to-Roll fabrication methods at the Group of Prof. Andrés Lasagni (Chair of Large Area Laser Based Surface Structuring). Dr. Soldera (Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the TU Dresden, from Argentina) was involved in the development of the functionalized polymer foils.
