Summer school 2024
From August 26 to 30, the Technische Universität Dresden and the Fraunhofer IWS hosted the 13th International Summer School "Trends and new developments in Laser Technology" under the leadership of Prof. Andrés Lasagni, from the Institute for Manufacturing Technology. More than 50 students and young scientists come to Dresden to this unique event from more than 15 different countries.
The five-days summer school offered students and PhD students the opportunity to get knowledge on basic and applied aspects of laser technology, including laser welding, cutting, hardening, additive manufacturing and microprocessing among others.
The program consisted of expert lectures, supplemented by participant presentations and informal discussion sessions.
In addition, laboratory tours and three different laboratory practices at the laboratories of Fraunhofer IWS gave the participants an insight into the range of research activities in Dresden.
