The 29th issue of the VDI news the work of the chair and the Fraunhofer IWS on the field of laser interference patterning is presented.

The editors of Biomaterial Science permitted us together with the department of Biofunctional Polymer Materials at Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden to design the backcover of the latest Volume (nr. 4).

This year, Prof. Lasagni and his team together with scientists around Prof. Mücklich from the University of Saarland and the Steinbeis Forschungszentrum Material Engineering Center Saarland (MECS) were awarded with the second place.

From April 25th to 29th 2016, we presented our latest results from research and development in the booth of Institute for Manufacturing Technology (TU Dresden) at Hannover Messe.

The Fraunhofer IWS together with the chair LMO at the TU Dresden developed a modular laser system for high speed laser patterning. With this system it is possible to pattern polymer surfaces with an fabrication rate of 0.7 m²/min - world record!

On the internation SPIE-conference PHOTONICS West 2015, Dresden scientist were awarded with the Green Photoncs Award 2015.
