Coating with laser- or plasma cladding
We have laser as well as plasma systems at our disposal for the cladding. The best precision is achieved with the laser technology, here we can choose between diode-lasers, ND:YAG-solid state- and fiber lasers. Just in this order the precision of the cladding increases and the deposition efficiency decreases. For those applications which require a high productivity, we use the PTA procedure( Plasma Transferred Arc) with a 6 kW plasma system.
Both energy sources, laser and plasma torch, are integrated into modern manufacturing systems, e.g. portal CNC systems, articulated robots and two millers. Using efficient controls and CAD/CAM software even complexly shaped components can be machined.
The spectrum of processable filler materials ranges from steels to nickel-cobald hard alloys to titanium, bronze and aluminium up to hard metals, e.g. WC/Co.
The users of this kind of research work in such fields as turbine and gear repair, mold-and tool construction as well as in the automotive industry. R&D main focus and transfers of research results into industrial production deal with:
-process- and material development
-CAD/CAM technology and offline programming
-system technology and integration as well as
-component technology and commissioning support.
