Studying at the Chair of Dynamics and Mechanism Design
We offer a variety of courses for students studying mechanical engineering, mechatronics and traffic engineering. In addition, they have the opportunity to apply and deepen their acquired knowledge in undergraduate and graduate theses, as student assistants (SHK) or with one of our partners. The topics are always related to current research or joint projects with our industrial partners and thus have a high practical relevance.
Courses
In addition to imparting theoretical knowledge, one focus of our education is the collection of practical experience. Thus, since the premiere in 2010, the course "Einführungsprojekt Mechatronik" is an integral part of the timetable of the first semester of mechatronics. The course, which is based on Lego Mindstorms and LabVIEW, has since challenged mechatronics students every year to develop mobile robots for solving various tasks. At the end of the project week, the robots compete against each other in a relay competition.
In the mechatronics degree program and in the mechanical engineering course "Simulationsmethoden des Maschinenbaus", the acquired theoretical knowledge is deepened and made applicable by numerous internships.
The chair holder, Prof. Beitelschmidt, is dean of studies for the mechatronics degree program and as part of the Institute of Solid Mechanics, the chair is involved in the specialization course "Simulationsmethoden des Maschinenbaus" and in the "Mehrkörpermodul" in Mechatronics.
