Core Capabilitys
The Chair of Mechanics of Multifunctional Structures works in the field of modeling and simulation of the behavior of conventional and physically coupled materials and structures as well as analyses of damage and fracture in both, teaching and research.
Research Activities
- Modeling and simulation of the coupled chemo-electro-mechanical behavior of electroactive polymers
- Investigation of the behavior of functionally-graded materials and high-temperature materials
- Multi-scale modeling of the macroscopic behavior of ferroelectric ceramics
- Modeling of fracture in ferroelectric ceramics under electro-mechanical load
- Analysis and simulation of the formation of crack patterns
- Modeling of the material behavior of high-strength steels used for industrial applications in forming and crash simulations
- Proccess simulation for self-pierce riveting of materials with limited ductility
