Promotion Paul Seibert

Paul Seibert has successfully defended his dissertation on "Microstructure Reconstruction form Differentiable Descriptors - A General Framework and Adapted Algorithms". In it, he deals with the descriptor-based reconstruction of microstructures to support the data-driven development of materials of the future. His work represents an important milestone for computer-aided material design. For example, realistic three-dimensional microstructures can be generated using the methods developed, whereby two-dimensional micrographs are sufficient as a basis.

In keeping with tradition, he will be wearing a doctoral hat after his defense, which was lovingly handcrafted by the Chair's team.
