Experts School 2025 - A successful milestone for InnoLAB

From May 5 to 9, 2025, the first InnoLAB Experts School took place at the University of Naples Federico II and brought together numerous participants to work together on the future of chemical engineering education.

With almost 80 participants, both on-site and online, the event provided an important platform for knowledge exchange, discussion and cross-border collaboration between different disciplines.

The following program items were offered over the course of the five-day event:

• 14 technical presentations by leading scientists and industry experts

• 3 plenary lectures with strategic insights into the future of chemical engineering

• 2 interactive workshops on process simulation and innovative teaching methods

• 8 technical focus lectures with industry-related case studies that will be further developed as part of InnoLAB

The participants consisted of doctoral students, postdocs, university lecturers and representatives from industry - a reflection of InnoLAB's goal of more closely interlinking education, research and application.

A big thank you to all speakers, contributors and participants for their commitment and valuable contribution! The Experts School was an important step towards the joint development of the first InnoLAB case studies and formed the basis for further cooperation.

Where do we go from here?

Although the Experts School was an important milestone, InnoLAB is still at the very beginning: the project is in its first year and many exciting activities will follow in the coming months.

The next big event will be the Teachers School in Turku (Finland) in 2026, which will take place in a hybrid format. The focus will be on the didactic training of teachers and the joint further development of the teaching materials developed in the project.
