Regulars' table of the connectING network: "Arriving in your first STEM job"

The network connectING - the regulars' table for female and male engineering students invites you to an event on January 22, 2026 about starting your first STEM career. The focus will be on the question of what role team structures and corporate culture play in a successful career start.

ATB gGmbH from Chemnitz has been invited as a guest. It is working on this topic in the BMFTR-funded research project "Women.Vision.Mission.MINT". During the talk, ATB will present the project and provide insights into initial research results.

Afterwards, the regulars' table will offer space for exchange and discussion:
What experiences have the participants had so far during their studies, internships or part-time jobs? What made the start easier, what was perceived as challenging? What expectations are there for the first career entry and what framework conditions would be desirable?

The thematic impulses of the lecture include

• Classification of current research findings on the career entry of women in STEM professions

• Favorable and obstructive conditions in predominantly male-dominated STEM companies

• Collaboration and practices in work teams

The event offers the opportunity to contribute your own perspectives, network and take away valuable impulses for your own career start.
