Our activities in the laboratory
The Chair of Energy Process Engineering has a laboratory and a technical center with various test facilities.
Basic tests for fuel analysis as well as ash and combustion behavior are carried out in accordance with DIN or DIN-compliant standards. Fuel analysis includes short analysis, elemental analysis, determination of the calorific and heating value and sieve analysis. In the ash and slag analyses, the melting behavior and chemical composition of both fuel ashes and batch samples, e.g. from combustion tests, are examined. In addition, kinetic data on the ignition and combustion behavior of fuels in the ignition furnace and batch reactor are determined.
