Energy Process Engineering - Thermo-economic Modeling
Lecturer: | Dr.-Ing. Daniel Bernhardt |
Extent: | 2 SWS Lecture, Self-Study Dates/Timetable |
Module number: | VNT_33 |
Credit points: | 5 |
Content
The students have knowledge about methods of heat integration as well as their apparative implementation. The thermodynamic fundamentals, the systematic planning procedure and the economic evaluation or optimization of the energetic process integration are in the foreground. The students are able to calculate temperature profiles in single and multi-component systems with and without phase transformation and, on this basis, to minimize exergy losses using the pinch-point method. Students will be able to network mass transfer and heat transfer apparatuses to achieve integrally optimal apparatus and system configurations.

Exam
With more than 20 registered students, the module examination consists of two written examinations of 90 minutes each (P1, P2). For up to 20 registered students, the respective written examination will be replaced by an oral examination as a group examination with up to 3 persons lasting 30 minutes per person; if necessary, this will be announced to the registered students in writing at the end of the registration period.
