Technologies for a safe, reliable and sustainable energy industry
The global energy industry requires new technologies that meet both the security of supply and the sustainable use of resources. Therefore, the teaching and research focus of our professorship is on energy storage technologies on the one hand, but also on the further development of nuclear competencies. Specialized in hydrogen, high-temperature heat storage and the safety of present and future nuclear reactors, we conduct research for national and international energy supply.
Our main topics are:
- Education and training in hydrogen technologies
- Education and training in reactor physics and nuclear engineering
- Safety for hydrogen technologies as well as national and international nuclear reactors
- Development participation in future reactor systems and energy storage technologies
- Comprehensive energy management analyses for energy systems
- Laser-based technologies for joining of functional materials, ablation of contaminated or loaded components and functionalization of surfaces
