Profile
The Chair for Inorganic-Nonmetallic Materials collaborates closely with Fraunhofer IKTS in developing and investigating advanced ceramic materials. The fields of research of the partners cover structural and functional ceramics, starting from the synthesis of tailored materials over the whole processing route to functional components and complete systems.
The extensive expertise and the consciousness of current trends and future demands also influence the courses offered at TU Dresden: Ceramic Materials, Processing-Structure-Properties of Ceramic Materials and Ceramic Functional Materials.
The scientific focus of the Chair for Inorganic-Nonmetallic Materials is set on
- combinatorical micro-electrochemistry
- integrated piezoelectric fibres and laminates
- instrumented compaction of ceramic powder and granulates
- energy and environmental technologies (fuel cells, photovoltaics, membrane technology, bio-energy, energy storage, ... )
