Release of a joint statement about additive manufacturing
The National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) and The Union of German Academies of Science and Humanities have issued a joint statement about additive production. The statement was issued with input from Prof. Christoph Leyens. The director of the Institute of Materials Science at the TU Dresden and the joint-director of the Fraunhofer IWS Dresden is the spokesperson for the acatech network »Materials Science and Engineering« and leads jointly from the Fraunhofer IWS Dresden and the TU Dresden the Centre for Additive Manufacturing Dresden – AMCD«.
The first of two statement issued under the sponsorship of the acatech discusses the themes: industrial production, value creation network and business models. It can be downloaded for free from the acatech website.
