Partnership for innovation and sustainability : ILK in India again - COMPOLL at the DAAD conference
New Delhi, India - The ILK, a leading research institute specializing in lightweight ecological solutions, is proud to announce its participation in the recent DAAD conference in New Delhi, India. The conference on "Innovation and Global Collaboration for Sustainability" brought together over 240 participants from Germany and India, representing 130 universities.
The ILK team, including Prof. Maik Gude and Kaushik Abhyankar, MSc, had the honour of participating in the conference with the bilateral project COMPOLL, which aims to combat pollution through the internationalization of education. They were accompanied by the project partner Prof. Ashish K. Darpe from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) . During the conference, the COMPOLL project was presented twice: by Prof. Gude in a 90-second pitch and by the entire COMPOLL team in the poster walk, where many interesting questions were asked and topics exchanged. The discussions on global cooperation for sustainability, trends in university cooperation, internationalization policy and the higher education landscape in Germany and India were informative and inspiring on many levels.
"We are delighted to be part of the DAAD Conference on Innovation and Global Cooperation for Sustainability," said Prof. Maik Gude from ILK: "Our participation in this event was incredibly valuable and we look forward to further collaboration and innovation with our partners in India."
The DAAD initiative "A New Passage to India" (ANPtI) aims to improve the understanding of India among German early-career researchers. German and Indian students, graduates and doctoral candidates are brought into contact with the working and research world of the other and mutual awareness of the respective country as a research location is raised. The project leaders funded within this framework meet annually to exchange experiences and project results. The iHED Confluence 2024, organized by the DAAD New Delhi office in cooperation with the DAAD Head Office in Bonn, India, from March 11 to 15, 2024, brought together DAAD alumni, principal investigators and postdocs from DAAD-ANPtI-funded projects with each other and other stakeholders. This year, the achievements of the ANPtI program were presented in a large format, as the current program phase ends in 2024.
Apart from attending the DAAD conference, Prof. Gude also had the opportunity to meet Prof. Bijoya Kumar Behera from the Department of Textile and Fiber Engineering at IIT Delhi in person to discuss joint research initiatives and further collaborations. The ILK would like to thank Prof. Behera and his colleagues for their hospitality during the meeting, the organization of the lab tour and looks forward to seeing them again at future events such as the 27th International Dresden Lightweight Symposium in June 2024 in Dresden.
