At the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at TU Dresden, Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Gröger successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled "A Multiscale Modeling Strategy for Thermally Assisted Mechanical Joining Processes in Thermoplastic Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites Using Insert Integration as an Example." His research focused on developing a multiscale modeling strategy for thermally assisted mechanical joining processes in thermoplastic fiber-reinforced polymer composites and contributed to a deeper understanding of these manufacturing technologies.
The dissertation defense was conducted before an examination committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Thomas Wallmersperger (Institute of Solid Mechanics, TU Dresden). The dissertation reviewers were Prof. Dr. Maik Gude (ILK) and Prof. Dr. Dietmar Drummer (FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, LKT). Prof. Dr. Niels Modler (TU Dresden) served as the examiner. The committee was further complemented by Prof. Dr. Alexander Brosius (IF, TU Dresden) as an additional member.
The ILK warmly congratulates Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Gröger on the successful completion of his doctoral degree and recognizes his dedication and the scientific rigor of his research. The Institute wishes him continued success in his future academic and professional endeavors.
