Innovative research meets regional tradition – First status meeting in the syntral project at the National Lightweight Validation Engineering Center Dresden (LEIV)
On October 23, 2024, the first status meeting for the "syntral - Synergetic Transfer Space Lusatia" project took place at the National Lightweight Engineering Validation Center (LEIV) in Dresden. The event provided an ideal opportunity to present the progress and innovative strength of the project to date and to discuss the content. The project is funded by the BMBF's innovation program "T!Raum - Transfer Spaces for the Future of Regions". Project spokesperson Prof. Maik Gude from the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) at TU Dresden welcomed the project partners and gave a comprehensive insight into the developments to date and future prospects.
The aim of the project, which was launched in spring 2024, is to transfer innovative research results to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Lusatia in a targeted manner that is adapted to the problem at hand. The focus is on exchanging ideas on an equal footing in order to promote sustainable and resource-efficient lightweight systemsthrough practice-oriented solutions. The syntral project will create a regional transfer space in the future, bringing together the future technologies of the ILK with the traditional manufacturing expertise of Lusatia.
In addition, those present had the opportunity to get to know modern solutions and technologies up close at the ILK. The meeting therefore took place in a special industrial atmosphere between the machines in the production hall. The idea of a so-called "shared factory", which is being created at LEIV as part of the syntral project and offers a resource-efficient production environment for lightweight systems, deserves special mention.
With this first positive status update, the next steps for the sustainable anchoring of an innovation structure can now be tackled. The next status meeting is already planned for spring 2024.
The first status meeting marks an important milestone for the syntral initiative and demonstrates the opportunities that the synergetic transfer area of Lusatia offers for companies and skilled workers in the region.
