LIGHTWEIGHT ENGINEERING Programme at the UNI-TAG - TU Dresden’s open house day 2022
At the the UNI-TAG - TU Dresden’s open house day, on Saturday, May 21st 2022, pupils, students and interested people could discover LIGHTWEIGHT ENGINEERING study programme at the ILK's booth.
The field of study presented itself with unique 3D printed components, attractive demonstrators as well as fibre-reinforced structures with integrated sensors and LEDs for hands-on experimentation - all manufactured at the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK). An eye-catcher was certainly the lightweight e-bike with numerous pieces of measuring equipment. By lifting it, the visitors could determine that the bike with its 23 kg (excl. measuring equipment) is indeed lighter than it looks. Our booth made young people clear that lightweight construction is present in a wide variety of industries. It is not only a topic for the technical fields, the aviation and automotive industries, but also can be found in the leisure, sports, medical, furniture and even art sectors. So there is something for everyone! Accordingly, the aroused interest and enthusiasm for LEIGHTWEIGHT ENGINEERING was huge on Saturday!
