Successful doctoral defense by Dr.-Ing. Wang with the distinction “magna cum laude”

With the successful defense of her dissertation on May 7, 2025, Ms. Zhenbi Wang completed her doctoral studies with the thesis entitled “Methodical Development of Active Compliant Mechanisms Driven by Shape Memory Alloy Wire.” In recognition of her scientific achievement, she was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Engineering with the distinction magna cum laude.

The defense was conducted before an interdisciplinary doctoral committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Sven Wießner (Institute of Materials Science, TU Dresden). The reviewers were Prof. Dr. Niels Modler (Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology, TU Dresden) and Prof. Dr. Song Lin (Tongji University, Shanghai). Further members of the committee included Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Maik Gude (Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology, TU Dresden) as examiner and Prof. Dr. Markus Kästner (Institute of Solid Mechanics, TU Dresden) as additional committee member.
