Textile Based Polymer-Metal and Metal-Metal Composites
CELLULAR METALS AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL WIRE STRUCTURES * REINFORCEMENT TEXTILES * MULTI-COMPONENT COMPOSITES
Contents:
New opportunities for lightweight constructions particularly in machinery and plant engineering as well as vehicle construction will be created within the project. The combination of metal components with carbon and glass fiber based textile reinforcing structures or metal reinforcing structures will result in textile based composites for multi material design.
Objectives:
- Systematic development of textile based structures which meet handling prerequisites as well as stress and strain requirements for multifunctional sandwich constructions consisting of woven wire structure and metal cover plates
- Development of compound systems with metal matrices and 2D/3D-textile structure composite systems consisting of metal and/or polymer fibers
- Determination of property profile of compound systems under practical conditions (quasi-static load, crash and impact)
