European Centre for Emerging Materials and Processes Dresden
The aim of ECEMP was to establish a solid foundation for the development of novel material combinations and tailored technologies which ensure enhanced capacity for innovation and competitiveness and in turn the creation and retention of jobs in the Free State of Saxony. It was with this in mind that ECEMP scientists develop multi-component materials with expanded property profiles which inspire novel technologies destined for the future-oriented sectors of energy technology, environmental technology and lightweight engineering. The scientists’ comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the fields of both materials science and technology enabled them to use novel multi-component materials featuring metals, polymers, ceramics and natural substances as a platform for pioneering steps towards the material technologies of the future. 40 professorships and a team of over 1,000 scientists put ECEMP in a unique position to act as a driving force for innovation in this area.
