Process development for precision vacuum casting of turbine blades
PROCESS DEVELOPMENT FOR PRECISION VACUUM CASTING OF TURBINE BLADES * PROBALISTIC SIMULATION
Contents:
Material specific casting simulation with variation of chosen process parameters on default geometries (plate, step block) and turbine blade feature specimen. Casting of selected design models with following microstructure analysis. Characterization of mechanical properties on heat treated specimen. Correlation set up between predicted microstructure and measured material properties.
Objectives:
- Accelerate the process development for precision vacuum casting of nickel base gas turbine blades
- Clear understanding enhancement of the whole casting process
- Considering the influence of scattering process parameters
- Determining the 3-D material data distribution in turbine blades
