Cross-border experimental gardens
After the successful first round of the X-Garden AeroLab with over 20 students from Eastern Saxony and Poland, the camp will go into the next round from July 26 - August 2, 2026.
When: July 26 - August 2, 2026
Where: DJH Jugendherberge Bautzen "Gerberbastei", Am Zwinger 1, 02625 Bautzen
The practice-oriented German-Polish technology camp is aimed at young people aged 14 and over from the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz (Saxony, Germany) and from the western voivodeship of Lower Silesia (Poland) who are interested in engineering, science, crafts and teamwork.
At the camp, the participants design and build an electrically powered RC model aircraft in teams under expert guidance. The practical work is supplemented by investigations into aircraft structures and drive systems as well as flight testing at the Klix glider airfield near Bautzen.
In addition to technical skills, the focus is on team spirit, creativity and international cooperation. The camp complements school learning and encourages an early interest in technical and engineering careers.
Participation is free of charge.
The camp is part of the "Cross-border Experimental Gardens" project and is funded by INTERREG Poland-Saxony.
