Dr.-Ing. Uwe Heßler new honorary professor for research and technology management in aviation
Dr.-Ing. Uwe Heßler was appointed honorary professor for the field of research and technology management in aviation. The rector presented the appointment certificate on 17.12.2019. The graduate mechanical engineer was awarded his doctorate at the TU Dresden in 2012 - with a thesis on research and technology management in the aviation industry. Born in Frankfurt, he has been working for Rolls-Royce, the leading European manufacturer of aerospace propulsion systems, since 1987. Since 2011 he has been head of the Research and Technology Department in Germany.
The father of three has strong ties to the TU Dresden as the person responsible at Rolls-Royce for the University Technology Centre (UTC) "Lightweight Structures and Materials and Robust Design". In addition to coordinating joint research activities, since 2008 he has been holding the lecture series "Technology Development and Technology Management in the Engine Industry", which ensures a strong practical orientation in his studies.
With his appointment, the faculty will have a proven and distinguished European expert for jet engines. This is a valuable enrichment for teaching, research and technology transfer. A warm welcome!
