ILK employee receives Rolls-Royce scholarship for achievements in neutral lightweight engineering

At the Rolls-Royce UTC Directors Seminar on November 3, 2022, in Derby, England, scholarships were awarded in the name of the former Chairman, Sir Ian Davis, for engineering which benefits the environment. Mr. Levin Schilling was pleased to receive the award on his work in neutral lightweight engineering. The achievements honored build on Mr. Schilling's diploma thesis, which was recognized last year by the WAK award. His research focuses on life-cycle engineering and the integration and application of life-cycle analysis in the early phases of product development. The insights gained play a particularly important role in aviation, as a cross-life-cycle view of development decisions is required to sustainably optimize the environmental impact of products.
