2006: Rolls-Royce and the TU Dresden opened an University Technology Centre (UTC)

Extensive research in the following areas:

• Development of lightweight structures and materials
• Robust component design
• Component life e.g. thermo-mechanical fatigue

Core activities:

• Research into lightweight structures from study phase to prototype manufacture
• Development of lightweight components
• Improvement of the environmental performance of the low pressure system
