New honorary professorship for Planetary Infrastructures and Habitats

We are particularly pleased to welcome Dr Daniel Schubert to the Institute as Honorary Professor for Planetary Infrastructures and Habitats, starting 1.12.2023!

Prof Schubert is team leader of the research cluster Planetary Infrastructures (Habitats & In-Situ Resource Utilization/ ISRU) at the DLR Institute of Space Systems in Bremen and is known for his research in the field of human space exploration. Main focus of his research is set on bio-regenerative life support systems and in particular on the use of greenhouse modules in future outposts on the Moon and Mars.

For many years, he has been actively involved with us in teaching and acts as a popular external centre for student research projects, excursions as well as in the field of concurrent design. We wish him every success in expanding teaching and research at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering!
