Research field Space Propulsion and Future Concepts

The focus of this research area is on highly innovative aerospace propulsion systems. Our research topics include miniaturised electric drives for high-precision position control applications, as well as height-adaptive nozzles for sounding rockets. With our novel concepts and ideas, we also challenge the limits of what is technically feasible. We have committed ourselves to testing revolutionary new approaches ("breakthrough propulsion physics").

Currently, more than 20 scientists covering a broad field of science, are working at the Chair of Space Systems. In addition to the scientific staff, numerous academic and student assistants are involved in the projects of the chair.
