Prof. Martin Tajmar is Director and professor at the TU Dresden’s Institute of Aerospace Engineering. In 1997, he studied Technical Physics at Technische Universität Wien. He afterwards graduated as Master of Space Studies from the International Space University in France. In 1999, he was awarded a doctorate, that is Dr. techn. at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Technische Universität Wien. After 10 years at the Austrian Institute of Technology and a professorship at KAIST, Prof. Martin Tajmar was appointed to the Chair of Space Systems in 2012.

The Chair of Space Systems places a strong emphasis on comprehensive and dedicated education for future aerospace engineers. We are therefore continuously committed to improving the quality of our teaching and to providing a broad range of courses for students from all disciplines.

Covering everything from innovative propulsion systems and highly integrated satellites to forward-looking space transportation technologies, the chair of space systems combines cutting-edge research with hands-on education. Students and researchers are directly involved in real missions—from their own satellite projects to experiments in space.
