The research network Smart AI-based Robotics (SKR) is doing the fundamental work to form a coherent alliance of the fragmented and not fully integrated research on robotics in Saxony in order to strengthen Saxon industry and research in the long term.
In the ERDF-funded network, leading Saxon universities and research institutions are pooling their expertise in order to interlink robotics and artificial intelligence more closely and bring innovations into application more quickly. To this end, SKR is creating a Saxony-wide research application center with shared infrastructure and data resources, establishing public monitoring of trends and dependencies and developing a joint research roadmap. In addition, further training and transfer formats for science, business and education are being developed.
As a network partner, TU Dresden - in particular the Chair of Construction Machinery - is contributing its expertise in robotics in the construction industry: from application-oriented scenarios in dynamic, unstructured working environments to system/sensor and automation concepts and the co-design of qualification and young talent formats for smart, AI-based robotics.
