50 years of the Fluid Power Research Fund: Fluidtronic joins in the celebrations
On July 1 and 2, 2025, our Chair of Fluid-Mechatronic Systems was a guest at the anniversary of the Fluid Power Research Fund (FFF) in Frankfurt (a.M.). Half a century of pre-competitive joint research - that is an impressive milestone that we were delighted to help celebrate.
The first evening was all about paying tribute: 50 years, over 200 projects and an impressive record in the promotion of early-career researchers. The extraordinary show by Thomas Fraps, who combined science and magic in a fascinating way, is particularly memorable – a perfect setting for this special occasion.
Scientific exchange and new project ideas
The second day brought us as a research institution fully into our element: together with ifas (RWTH Aachen), IMA (University of Stuttgart) and Mobima (KIT), we presented current developments in fluid power research. The variety of approaches and the lively discussions impressively demonstrated how dynamically our field of research is developing.
A particular highlight was the general meeting, at which four new research projects were approved for self-financing. As a long-standing partner of the FFF, we are looking forward to these new challenges and the opportunity to contribute our expertise in fluid mechatronics.
Recipe for success: cooperation between science and industry
What we particularly appreciate about the Research Fund is the unique atmosphere of cooperation. Here, scientists and industry representatives meet as equals, discuss technical challenges together and develop practical solutions. This form of cooperation is not only valuable for our research, but also for the education of our students and doctoral students.
We congratulate the Fluid Power Research Fund on its anniversary and look forward to more exciting projects in the future!
