New publication: Practical handbook on the thermo-energetic design of machine tools

We are pleased to announce the publication of our new book "Thermo-energetic Design of Machine Tools - Practical Handbook". It provides practical and scientifically sound methods for improving the thermal and energy capabilities of machine tools. Our team has contributed four chapters that focus on the following topics:

• Design of cooling sleeves for spindles
• Cooling strategies for machine tool frames
• a demonstrator machine model from the joint project

The book summarizes innovative approaches that have been researched since 2011 in several projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of the SFB/TR96.
