Practice meets innovation: our trade fair highlight at Hannover Messe 2025
Digital twins in action - our trade fair appearance in Hanover. Five days, many discussions and a clear focus: How can digitalization be implemented in industry in concrete terms?
At Hannover Messe 2025, one of the world's most important industry gatherings, we showed exactly that together with partners from the Fluid 4.0 project. The focus of our presentation was a miniaturized wheel loader - developed together with TU Dresden - that not only moves, but above all explains. This demonstrator makes visible what lies behind terms such as digital twin and administration shell.
Communicating complex technology clearly
The machine can be controlled using a joystick and can be set either manually - with classic data sheet values - or automatically via a digital administration shell. The difference? Quite clearly. While the manual version remains time-consuming and error-prone, the automated solution demonstrates the potential of digitally networked components - especially in the control development of mobile machines.
The idea behind it: to make complex technology tangible. And that is exactly what we achieved. Our aim was to show the current status of the project, to demonstrate the benefits of digital twins in real-life use and to engage in discussions with trade visitors.
Our conclusion:
A successful trade fair appearance, where many visitors came into concrete contact with the topic of administration shells for the first time. For many, the term was previously unknown - so it was all the more important to convey the concept in a practical and understandable way.
We were particularly pleased with the consistently positive feedback: the demonstration was perceived as tangible and vivid, and last but not least, the opportunity to control the wheel loader ourselves ensured a real trade fair experience and interesting discussions at the stand.
