Starting signal for the Construction Future Lab in Görlitz: building contract signed at a ceremony
On February 14, 2025, the time had come: the construction contract for the Construction Future Lab (CFLab) in Görlitz was signed in a festive ceremony. The managing professors Prof. Weber, Prof. Otto and Prof. Will, together with Mr. Gossmann, the branch manager of our construction partner GOLDBECK, sealed the official start of the project - a significant milestone for the construction of the CFLab and a clear commitment to the Görlitz-Klingewalde site.
Research meets practice
Over the next few years, a state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary research facility will be built on the site in the Klingewalde district. The aim is to create a real innovation environment for the construction of the future: In the CFLab, civil engineers, mechanical engineers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will come together in future to work on pioneering solutions for the construction industry.
From the digitalization of construction sites to networked construction machinery and new training formats - the CFLab will be a place where people not only research, but also try out, test and think ahead.
A laboratory for the construction turnaround
With the CFLab, we are creating space for genuine collaboration: this is where academic expertise, entrepreneurial drive and regional innovative strength come together. The focus is on concrete applications and use cases that enable the transfer of research into practice.
The modular structure of the lab allows for flexible usage formats - from demonstrators and pilot projects to the scientifically supported development of new technologies. This makes the CFLab the central location for application-oriented construction and technology research in Lusatia.
Project management with vision
The project will be managed by Lisa Schlund and Dr. André Sitte, who will not only coordinate the planning and implementation, but will also report regularly on progress, milestones and events relating to the CFLab - be it on our website, in newsletters or via our social media channels.
