Teaching, Research, and Practice
The Chair of Fluid-Mechatronic Systems offers courses in the major of many different study programs with a science and engineering focus. The knowledge conveyed in the introductory lectures can be deepened in further lecture series. Calculation exercises and laboratory practices serve as a way to apply and strengthen the acquired knowledge.
Research in cooperation with partners from the industry and other universities within Europe play a crucial role at the institute. Students have various opportunities to participate. In the realm of study and diploma theses as well as by being a student worker, students can immediately apply and broaden their acquired knowledge. Furthermore, contact opportunities to companies of the industry as well as first insights into the corporate practice can be established.
Within the Bologna process in the EU, study programs at the TU Dresden have recently been unitized in order to enable students to change between different universities more easily. By keeping the degree of the graduate engineer (“Diplomingenieur”) in mechanical engineering, the TU Dresden is taking a separate path in Germany. Beyond this, students also have the option of finishing with the international degrees “Bachelor” and “Master“.
