Horst Berthold Study Award
On December 14, 2012, the Annual General Meeting of DWM e. V. decided to award the Horst Berthold Study Prize. Further information can be found in the regulations for the awarding of the Horst Berthold Study Prize.
On the occasion of Prof. Dr. Horst Berthold 's 100th birthday on March 21, 2013, the prize was awarded for the first time and presented by Horst Berthold's daughter, Dr. Claudia Herzberg.

The first prize winner was Alexander Erdmann for his outstanding thesis on Systematization and Modularization of the Information Processing for the Experimental Parameter Identification.

Verleihung des Horst-Berthold-Studienpreises 2019 an Mauritz Mälzer
In keeping with the conference motto "Cyber-physical production systems become reality", Aachen graduate Mauritz Mälzer was awarded 1000 euros in December 2019 for his outstanding diploma thesis on the Generation of Support Structures for Additive Manufacturing with Artificial Neural Networks.
